The AmLaw 100 is out today. As a proud member of ALM’s Legal Blog Network, it is my privilege (and obligation) to flog this annual event.
We didn’t get a sneak preview like in years gone by. A quick pass this morning indicates some room for optimism. However, the crack crew at The American Lawyer is trying to stay ahead of the BigLaw financial gurus, who know how to work the numbers to make year-to-year comparisons difficult.
Some time ago, a high ranking was a sign of prestige and fiscal strength. Now it may be that, but also a reason for the GC community to be wary.
(And boy, the new Lexis-Nexis/ALM partnership is rather obvious, isn’t it?)
